Now that my daughter sleeps in her room, which is right next to the living room, we have to be a little quieter. She has a loud noise machine, but we do need to keep it down a little bit.

No, her room is upstairs and we run white noise so we can be relatively loud.

Yes! DD is a super light sleeper. She doesn't sleep well with white noise (it actually makes her wake up more). Once she went to daycare it got a little better, but we still have to keep it kind of quiet during nap times.

We use a white noise machine and I don't know what we'd do without it! The only thing we don't do is crazy loud stuff, like hammering. But we run the dishwasher, vacuum, etc.

we didn't use to because we lived in a two level. But now that we're in a smaller one level, we play white noise on my iPod, and that way we can still do dishes, cook, clean etc... I don't use the vacuum or purposefully clank dishes or anything - I try to stay pretty quiet but I also don't stop doing things; I hope that he will learn to sleep through "life" sounds. Plus our apartment isn't so quiet. There are constantly kids yelling outside our windows, vacuuming and running on the floor above us, doors slamming in the hallways, neighbors talking etc...

We use a humidifier without filter or water to generate white noise. It drowns noise out, it's awesome. Also when we travel we use an iPhone app for white noise!

During nap time, yes, mostly b/c our youngest swing naps in the office downstairs and I don't have any white noise except for the sound of the swing which isn't enough, especially when our dog barks. I even had to put a sign up by our doorbell to ask postal service ppl to not ring our doorbell when they drop off packages. As for bed time, nope. They are usually so tired noise doesn't bother them, thankfully!

Nope...we go about our ways. But we also play loud white noise in his room to drown out any noise we make (although we've forgotten to turn it on on occasion and it hasn't made a difference).

Yes, we're a bit quieter after he's gone to bed. We tend to close the door to the living room where we spend most our venings but other than that we talk in normal voices and have the TV on.

No, we want her to be able to sleep through noise. The only exception is if I need to pee around 5 or 6 am. I can't flush or else she will wake up since our bathroom is next to her room.

Nope, we make noise as usual. It's actually helped him be a better sleeper, too. When he was really little and would sleep in his swing we would literally vacuum all around him and it didn't disturb him at all. So now, as long as we know he's asleep we can use power tools and everything and he will stay sleeping.

No..we are just as noisy as day time. That way, we don't ever need to be super quiet. But, i do hear that they wake up from noise more easily the older they become. :/
