Nope. I'm the only one who is married, though some will be getting married soon. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one thinking about having kids anytime soon. I wish I had more friends in the same place as me :-/

I feel very fortunate that most are. Two of DH's three friends from HS had baby girls within three months of our. The third has two under 3.

We had our local college friends over for an overdue get together last weekend. Out of the seven friends in the area six are married and four have kids. Three are under one.

My closest girlfriends are far from having kids.

All our friends are about 5-7 years older than us and have kids ranging from about 2-10 years old... So we're a little behind them but appreciate all their wisdom and advice!

We're lagging behind most of our friends! Most of them got married in their mid-20s and started having babies soon after. I lived by the mantra "no marriage, no kids until 30" so now at 33, most of them have kids in school and we're planning our first child's first birthday. I don't mind - it's been great to hear words of wisdom from all of them and learn from their experiences!

Nope. My friends are all in committed relationships but not at the kid stage yet (or even close!). I know a couple girls who are pregnant/just had a baby and I'm trying to buddy up to them because I need some other mama friends irl!

I've been married 3 years, and I just had my first close friend get married last year. Now they're starting to get engaged, but a lot still live at home and/or are single (and I'm 28!!!) I'm DEFINITELY the first one procreating :) BUT I live in a totally different state, so it doesn't bother me as much as it might if I lived there. And, they're all really excited for us!

Not really - a few other close friends are married, but none with kids yet. I've gotten closer to my SIL since having DD (she's a SAHM of three boys and I'm in awe of her mom skills). I really wish I had more (or any) friends with kids in the area.

not really- the majority of my friends fall into the totally single camp, or the married with a baby camp. we are the only "married but not pregnant/with kids" of our friends. we used to do lots of couples dinners, but now its lots of date nights (i'm not complaining!)

Out of all of our close friends, I can think of three sets that have children. All three live in a six hour radius of us. We got together over Christmas, and that's it.

Our neighbors have a daughter Chloe's age and we've gotten to be really close with them. It's nice having someone our age so close by and with children the same age!

None of my closest friends from college have kids yet, and most are single, but pretty much all of our friends in our current city have kids more or less the exact same age. We have a group of 6 families that we meet weekly for dinner, and we occasionally go on vacation together or hang out on weekends, and 5 of the 6 couples have kids, with the 6th couple due to have their first in November. The oldest child in the group is 4, two of us are due this fall, and two or three of the families are going to try for another kid starting this summer. It's definitely nice to have other people who want to go out for breakfast at 8 AM on Saturday and have easy baby-proof and toddler-friendly homes to visit. On the other hand, sometimes it means that it's hard to connect as adults because whenever we get together, we're just overrun by small children- there are friends in this group that I don't think I've had a "real" conversation with in a year because it's constantly interrupted by making sure none of the kids are doing grave harm to themselves, others, or property.

Sort of, in that we're all several years post-college and mainly in serious relationships, if not engaged/married.

If I'm counting my closest girlfriends, two are married, one's close to getting engaged, and two are single. One just had a baby a month ago. I'm getting married in 4 months and will be TTC soon after.

I've never felt like any of us have been in a stage of life where we don't understand the others, though...

All our friends from "home" are our best friends from high school. None of them are married yet, and most still live at home with parents. They are all the same age as us (25 this year).

All our friends where we live now (3 hours from "home") are our age or 2-3 years older. They are all married, own homes and have 1-2 babies or are TTC.

We won't be TTC for a year or more, so sometimes I feel like I don't fit it in totally with either group. Hopefully by the time we TTC # 1 some of my friends from here are onto # 2!

Since this is where we will probably live forever, I'm more concerned with fitting in with the friends up here then the ones at home that we only see once a month or bi-monthly.

Sorry for the novel!!! :D

@rahlyrah: Same! I looked a few up, but unfortunately they all seem to be very heavily geared towards SAHM, and I wouldn't be able to make any of the scheduled events, etc. There are a lot of moms on my street as well, but again, they are all SAHMs, and I really am hoping I can find WOHMs that might have a similar schedule to me! Maybe I'll just start stalking moms at the park..... 0_0

@Bookworm: I do have some new mommy friends, but these are my friends since preschool/kindergarten. It's hard because they really don't understand. One of my (supposed to be) best friends didn't see LO until she was over a month old. It hurts that she couldn't make time to come meet her..... but I just brush it off and figure she'll get it when/if she has a baby.

irl I actually don't know of anyone else that is ttc right now (or if they are, they aren't talking about it!. very few of our friends have kids, and if we get pregnant soon we'll still end up having some of the oldest kids in our social circle, even though we're ~30 and have been married 3 years. and my friends tend to be pretty evenly split between married/engaged/long term relationships and single. like, of the 5 friends that i've spoken to about ttc, 2 are single, one is married, and 2 are engaged. so it's definitely a mix.

Yes, for the most part! My best girl friends just had babies the same time I did - but it was their second for a few.... my husbands friends are a little bit older so they have kids a few years older than our's.... and now a few of our other close friends just are having their first - so we feel really lucky that all of our kids are going to be so close in age!
