We're going to make a small turkey for the two of us. It'll be a small, quiet day for us.

Yes, even though we're vegetarian! We're making one for the non-veggie people that are coming. Plus lentil loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, cauliflower, peas, cornbread, cranberry sauce...
And of course pumpkin, apple, pecan, and berry pie!

Yep! We are hosting my side of the (immediate) family and will have 8 people at our house. We're doing 2 turkeys (one in the oven, one in the smoker) and all of the sides minus fresh rolls and green bean casserole. My husband goes a little overboard... ;) It should be fun.

Yep. Along with nearly everything else. We are hosting 9 people. I think it is manageable, but still challenging.

Thankfully SO has been incredibly helpful this week so far, and will be a huge hand on the actual day as well, I'm sure. Thank goodness for helpful husbands :) I would be a hot mess otherwise on Thanksgiving.

@yoursilverlining: That is amazing! What a wonderful thing to do!

We will be going to a friend's for Thanksgiving so no turkey making for me. I'm doing an apple pie and a pumpkin cheese cake. And my friend for some reason hates making mashed potates so I'm in charge of those too. Which is super easy now that I have my stand mixer!

My husband and I cook Thanksgiving dinner every year for a homeless veteran’s shelter in our town (it’s a home vs. a large shelter, so there are usually 8-12 veterans there for the dinner).

We will make:
Turkey
Gravy
Stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Green bean casserole
Mac and Cheese
Cranberry sauce
Roasted veggies (squash, yams, asparagus)
Dinner rolls
Pies (and maybe cookies)
Basket of hot cocoa/tea/coffee/other goodies

We make all that Wednesday/Thursday morning, then head up to my parents house, where my mom makes our Thanksgiving dinner every year. Only thing I will bring to that is green bean casserole, because my mom hates it and refuses to make it haha

We're hosting Thanksgiving (3x in a row, I think it's become tradition). This year there will be around 20+ppl, but it's pot-luck style. I'll be making the green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, baked macaroni & cheese, and pumpkin pie squares. DH will make the turkey.

@tejbee: Boston Market does a great job! When I was in college, my parents came to visit and I ordered the turkey, potatoes, stuffing and pies from a grocery store who cooked it all and I picked it up before my parents got there. All they had to do was carve the turkey. Dad had no clue. Mom was in on it. :)

No, it's too much work just for the DH and I. LO probably won't eat turkey so we are just going out to a restaurant. I am hoping we like the place so we can make that our yearly tradition since we never have any family around for Thanksgiving.

Nope. On Thanksgiving, we'll be going to DH's family farm. We all bring a dish or dessert and MIL does the turkey. I'm doing corn and pumpkin pie. For my family the weekend after, we do the same thing but my SIL does the turkey. I'm in charge of pies again. I am the pie queen!

Yep! Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, veggies and rolls. We are very traditional and I love it! I'm just hoping I can get through prepping the turkey and stuffing without gagging! If not, dh may need a quick lesson in turkey do prep.

I'm having a turkey with the in-laws on Thursday and my family on Friday. So sorry no gobble gobble for the bee family. :( Is there a way for you to maybe order one? I know some restaurants do that so you can still enjoy one without the work. Or if all else fails maybe a rotisserie chicken? Over here places like Luckys, Safeway, and Costco all offer them.

This year I'm trying something different and I'm going to use apples, cinnamon sticks, onions, sage, and rosemary as my aromatics, so the house should smell amazing!
