I make jewelry, I knit, I make detailed sugar cookies decorated with royal icing, I do needlepoint, I scrapbook, I bejewel things... the list goes on and on. We have a whole section of the basement devoted to my craft supplies.</p> <p>I like to take other peoples' ideas and recreate them on my own. Friends always tell me I should start a business or an etsy store, but the fact of the matter is, crafts take a toll on your hands!! I like to do it for myself, my family and friends, but I just don't like doing it for money. </p> <p>I did make dol bean towers for a few people (and rented some of mine out) and made some money that way.... that was fun. Most items for my wedding were handmade and my home is cluttered with DIYs. Now I have all these grand ideas for my baby's nursery, like a crocheted blanket and little baby clothes, but realistically, I think I'll have a few homemade cushion covers.</p> <p>@Rubies: have you tried taking sewing lessons at the workroom in Parkdale? They offer really practical and fun classes. I took a tie sewing class last year and made a few as Christmas presents.
