@MarieJ: I would probably complain. I'm guessing the home daycare is through an agency? Even if LO isn't there anymore, i'd want the agency to know about it.

I loooove our nanny and DD loves her too. She will start daycare in October/November and I'm pretty nervous about how she will take the transition.

For the most part I'm happy with the care LO receives at the home daycare she goes to. A few little things bug me, like not always getting back what we send (missing a spoon right now), and the fact that sometimes the cat is still out when I drop LO off (she's supposed to be put away in the bedroom whenever kids are there, and I'm allergic so she makes me sneeze), but the lady is wonderful to LO and her kids adore her, so that makes up for it.

@Freckles: I was beyond pissed! It still makes me angry when I think about it. There was not a baby monitor in the room. Why would someone put a baby upstairs, alone, with no monitor? Thankfully, she was only there a couple of weeks. There's a number I can call to complain. I'm debating on whether I should or shouldn't.

Yup! We love our daycare! He's the only infant there right now, so he gets a lot of attention, and gets to hang out with the older kids, who love him. The teachers tell us that he loves to sit and watch them run around and play. And they work with him on developmental stuff - sitting up, grasping toys, holding his bottle, etc... PLUS, they have Mom and Dad's night out - one Friday a month, for $5, you can take your child there from 7-10! It's awesome, since we already know and trust them. AND IT'S ONLY $5!!

@regberadaisy: Yes. *hangs head* I tell them not to give her too much when they serve it, but only because i'm afraid of a situation where i didn't pack enough food and she's hungry. Seriously, the other daycare served it too! But i pack LO's lunch/snack.

@MarieJ: I would be so pissed! Did they at least have a baby monitor in the room? The diaper changes would annoy me too, and that was always a problem at the other daycare. The new place changed her diaper 4x during the day! Is there a website where you could put in a bad review? That would be pretty effective too.

@artbee: @Andrea: I'm sure your babies have no complaints too. ;)

@BlueWolverine: I feel like getting him on a schedule at home will help them be able to put them down better, but I don't know if 4 months is too young for that. Is it bad I'm secretly afraid they'll judge me? They're really good about putting him down when tired, or he passes out in a bouncer seat, but his "naptimes" are all over the place, which can't help matters!

that's great that it's working out at the new daycare!

we are happy with our childcare. I work from home 3 days a week and the 2 days i'm in the office, either my Mom, MIL or DH watches DS. when #2 gets here, i'll be a SAHM. that i'm more nervous about haha

@ladyfingers: Baby A also needs to master the art of the day care nap. She always falls asleep on our 15 minute ride home and sleeps in the car seat at home for an hour.

I like her day care. I especially like her teachers. There's one "resource" teacher that I really don't like (I've seen her do some incredibly lazy things). However, she isn't in LO's room much, so I deal. I do love that when I come to get her, they're often holding her, reading to her, etc.

We're very happy with our setup. She's home with me most days but goes to her babysitter's house when I work 2 days / week. Our sitter is a SAHM to a 3 year old and two school-age kids. The kids are always so glad to see M and she seems happy there too. Our sitter seems to really treat M like she is her own and I think it's great for her to have experiences with another family. Also, because she is a mom of three she is always giving us hints and teaching us things as new parents. We feel very lucky!

I'm glad to hear you're happy with the new daycare.

DD is in a daycare center and we love them and are extremely satisfied with the level of care she receives. She went to a home center for a while and I picked her up early one day and saw that she had my baby upstairs in a room sleeping by herself with the door completely shut, and was not changing her diapers until the end of the day. Needless to say, she didn't go back the next day and I'm debating reporting her. I'm so happy we found her current daycare. They've been awesome!

I'm glad it's working out! We love our son's daycare and his teachers, they are very caring and professional, and he's always quite happy when I pick him up (albeit very tired, he still hasn't mastered the art of the daycare nap).

that's great the new daycare is working out, and you're so close to her!

we put deposits on no less than 3 daycares because we weren't sure which one to go with. we're happy with the one that he's at now--his spot for the expensive hoity toity place opens up in august but i think we will let it go to another family. no reason to mess with something that's working.

My son's in a day care center, and yes, we're satisfied with the level of care he receives. He's obsessed with one of his teachers, so much so, that when she goes to the bathroom, he sits outside the door in the "waiting area" they have and reads books to himself.

They're doing a fantastic job, I am really blessed.

Some of you may know that i was debating switching daycares. I really doubted my decision after 2 days into the new daycare but i quickly realized that it was a good move. She is CLEAN when i pick her up (seriously, she was always so dirty...i mean really, can they not clean her face/hands?), they encourage her to be active, and the planned activities ensure she isn't bored.

Sure, the food still sucks and they also serve cheez whiz but i am pretty happy with my decision. Plus, since i'm on the second floor, i can see the outdoor playground from my office.

Are you happy with LO's caregivers/centre?
