No she's not obsessive about candy and I go through the bag first anyway. So far we haven't gotten anything crazy yet - mostly non-food items or some fruit snacks, pretzels, etc.

Nope. Teachers specifically said no candy. LO is also really good at not begging for candy. She'll eat one occasionally for a treat but that's it. I'm not much of a candy person and neither is hubby so I think she just gets it from us. We always throw 90% of holiday candy away

No, they aren't allowed to give out candy. But we ration what candy she does get (Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc.) and end up tossing most of it after a couple of weeks

Nope the school is pretty strict on healthy treats for parties and bag up the candy for the parents. Ds is good about only getting one or two treats we give him!

So far most parents have been really good about not handing out candy as valentines! And everything comes home in a bag they make for us to look through first. For daycare parties they encourage and ask parents not to bring in sweets!

Hoping this will continue through grade school!

Not really....she only goes in the mornings and they tend to do most of the party things in the afternoon. I'm sure she'll come home with a little goodie bag from the teachers, but the treats from other kids usually happen after lunch.

No, I "save" most of it. They're allowed a few pieces the day of and the day after but then I usually end up throwing it away. No one remembers!

I go through everything and toss the bad stuff. My kids don't go crazy over candy and chocolate, but when it's available they eat what I give them (3-5 m&ms and skittles, I gold coin, 1 starburst, etc)

No because I throw that stuff right out. I do the same after birthday parties and Halloween.

No, the teachers don't let them eat candy at school and they give the edible Valentine's stuff (same for Halloween) to parents at pick up time. I'll let them pick one thing and I will toss or eat the rest.

I'm thankful my daughter isn't obsessed with candy yet but I hate thinking about the parties at school where she comes home with a ton of candy that even I wouldn't eat. Example: cheap junk candy from Party City. Is anyone else dreading the daycare Valentine's Day party like I am just because of all the junk that will come home?
