We just call that "grumpy pants" and ride it out :)

Most of the time I think it's because he wanted me to do something but expected me to know without telling me. Toddlers are just awesome like that :)

Ds is 5, and I STILL have times where I have no idea what his problem is. He just gets into his little attitudes, and then he ends up in trouble, lol. Not often, but it does happen.

This happens to us once a week maybe... In our case the best I have come up with is a) he is super hungry to the point that he is having a meltdown but is so mad and wound up that he won't even eat! Or b) something which we have no idea what, set him off and he can't communicate it and then gets wound up and throws a tantrum. I have been trying to give DS a substantial snack right after school and pre-empt the meltdowns. I also have been trying happiest toddler on the block techniques (speaking back to them what we are hearing from them on toddler language) with mild success.

We had a phase of that for over a week but she snapped out of it. It was freaky...we tried everything. Sometimes they get mad b/c they are trying to tell you something but aren't getting their message across. (Receiver error? :D)

LO is almost 15 months and I feel like I can usually calm her down when she is fussy.
She was hysterical when we got home from daycare and rhe store today. She was dry, had no temp, refused food, refused milk....she was just a back arching screamer for over 30 minutes. She napped well at daycare too...

DH came home and he was able to soothe her...whew! I feel like a big loser!
