In our case the best I have come up with is a) he is super hungry to the point that he is having a meltdown but is so mad and wound up that he won't even eat! Or b) something which we have no idea what, set him off and he can't communicate it and then gets wound up and throws a tantrum. I have been trying to give DS a substantial snack right after school and pre-empt the meltdowns. She was dry, had no temp, refused food, refused milk....she was just a back arching screamer for over 30 minutes. She napped well at daycare too...</p> <p>DH came home and he was able to soothe her...whew! I feel like a big loser! </p>
