And it has been SO cold. It is usually warmer here than the city but we have had almost as much snow and just as much cold. We've had a mix of really cold days and then a lot of snow. Our snow piles are part old snow, ice, and new snow. Yesterday was warm at 12 degrees or something with no wind. It snowed most of the night, so we got new snow to contend with. Just like our last big snowstorm, Rahm didn't plow right away. To think, he's surprised that he's in a runoff election now. I'm in Canada, and I guess I'm use to it, but I get tired of it, that's for sure. Today we had a cold warning in effect, I believe it was -40 celcius this morning. This winter, to me, has been very mixed. More days above freezing, I believe below-average snowfall, but also stretches of very cold temperatures. We go out most days anyway, but will often stick to the yard if it is particularly cold. That way if it feels dangerous to me at all we can come right in and warm up. For walking I just wear Lorelei. I think it'd be hard with a stroller. This winter just hasn't made up its mind what it wants to do. Christmas was one of the warmest on record. Now its just pretty cold out and we have had cold weather alerts/warnings.</p> <p>I think last year was more brutal as we had a massive ice storm that covered everything in 2-3 inches of ice. The snow is crazy, even for us - if started with major storms in early November and hasn't stopped. I think we are on snow day #13 now? Last week, we got 8"-12" of snow in the metro, my parents got over a foot, and my inlaws got almost 1.5 feet of snow. This is the south. It's horrible. My neighborhood hasn't been plowed so there is a lot of ice on the roads where the snow melts in the sun but it's so cold that it freezes every night. Nobody will clear their sidewalks either, so if you want to walk anywhere, you are walking in the road. </p>
