I did take the test at night instead of the morning like he thought I was going too, so I had DD come "wash her hands" before dinner and had her bring him the test in the kitchen. I found out about an hour before he got home from work and put a note with the due date in it in the frame and put that, the hat and pee stick in a box and wrapped it. He was immediately suspicious but surprised and excited. In actual fact I think this was rather nice as it was us sharing the news at the same time instead of me having kept it from him until giving him a baby gro or something.
