I am absolutely voting! I don't live in a swing state, so my vote for the President won't change anything, but there are important local measures to vote for--specifically, marijuana laws and school funding (meaning, those are the most important to me personally).

As long as you're registered, there's no excuse not to vote! It's not too late to educate yourself about the issues in your area.

Already voted! I've been volunteering in our senate race which is one of the closest in the nation. And I know that my state will go the other way for the president, but I don't believe in letting the majority drown out my opinion. Numbers say something even if they don't change results. Who knows, maybe my state will be closer this year and candidates will start caring about us too!

There are two weeks till the Election Day. Project vote smart is a good website to learn about the issues. And don't forget to vote for your local candidates! Those outcomes have significant impacts on your town and state.

I couldn't imagine looking at a woman in another country who didn't have the right to vote and telling her I didn't feel like it or didn't want to learn about the issues. Being able to impact our country is exciting, empowering, and important!

Vote!!!!!

I'm in WA state, and so I definitely already sent in my ballot. We have some big issues on our ballot (Marriage Equality, legalizing Marijuana) and a tight Governor's race, so there's lots of important reasons to vote other than the president.

Hellz yes! I live in a swing state for the first time in my life, so my vote really matters this time.
(FYI, I always voted previously, even when I lived in a non-swing state.)

Heck yes! I'm so excited. This is the first presidential election that I am registered for and I've been following along super closely. My state always goes the way I would vote but that doesn't minimize how important it is for me as a woman to exercise my right to vote.

@Mrs. Jacks: Thats awesome! I would totally go door to door if I lived in a swing state
@Mrs. Superhero: Baffles me too :(

If we can't be bothered to vote or follow the issues that affect us, that the time when your vote doesn't matter. It drives me crazy when people say that a vote doesn't matter- all votes matter. All of those votes that "don't matter" add up. I don't want to offend anyone, but just being able to vote and have a say is a right that many people have and would give their lives for and I find it disappointing when others don't value that right. But I suppose that is a right too.

We have submitted our absentee ballots. This year there are two huge items on our ballot that would greatly affect our taxes. We felt very strongly that we needed to vote at least locally. We are also in a swing state so our presidential vote counts this year!!

I'm sad to say that I completely missed the window on getting my absentee ballot sent out :-( I think the last time I voted was in 2004 as I forgot to get my absentee ballot for the 2008 election as well.

At least my vote wouldn't matter much - my state always goes a certain way and it's the way I would have voted anyway. I did say to my mom though that if the other guy wins my state, I will forever hold my peace on whinging about him as I will have directly contributed to his victory.

I am voting, even though it doesn't much matter in my state. I am more concerned with the close senate race. Also, I can't wait for the election to be over so that all these ads on TV will go away. Do they ever actually impact voters other than just by annoying them?

For sure. Swing state voter here, and I tend to vote in even the little elections anyway. But this time, I feel like my vote is important AND I have a strong opinion. My only voting dilemma: I like voting on election day, but I worry that it will be cold with long lines, so I'm considering voting early instead. That's my only undecided vote!

@Shutterbug: Oh thanks! And, duh, I have the voter booklet on my counter and haven't bothered to open it, but it sounds like everything is outlined in there. How is it not a bigger deal that medical marijuana and assisted suicide are on the ballot? I've seen 16 million ads about Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren, plus pres, of course, but exactly 1 suicide one, and 0 marijuana ones. Actually I answered my own question-- $$$$.

I had every intention on voting in this election but won't be able to because I'll be 8 hours away. I was going to be home (I live in Canada) and was planning on voting so I never applied for an absentee ballot and unfortunately at this point the deadline to do so has passed. My grandfather is on his death bed so instead of going home and voting, I'm going to visit him.
So yes @yoursilverlining: it will be inconvenient to vote and no I won't be voting. I could justify it by saying that my state will go for my candidate anyway, but even if that weren't true I think I'm making the right decision.
