NOPE! I don't like feeling like I owe anyone anything, even though there truly are people in the world that just like giving because it makes them feel good. I am always most comfortable, in personal life, and in work, when I feel like I've given more to people than they've given to me.

Compliments...forget about it. Have never gracefully accepted one in my life. People around me think it's annoying. ;) That's definitely one I need to work on.

There are a total of two people in this world that I truly am at ease with accepting help/calling for help from---both best friends from college---because we've all done so much for each other that it's clear that it's impossible to keep score on. We've gone to the ends of the earth and back for each other, so it's easy to give and receive with no guilt! It seems like it takes virtually decades for me to get to a place like that with people.

Gifts, favors and help are easy for me but compliments, in person, are very hard.

I'm really bad at accepting favours and help (and equally bad at asking). Compliments are hard, too, especially when I don't FEEL it. I'm gracious and good at accepting gifts when it's an appropriate gift-giving time (birthdays, Christmas, etc.) but not when it's out of the blue - I feel awkward! But this is because I don't like surprises...When I'm caught off guard, I act stupid and weird.

I try to be. I think people see it as rude if you adamantly refuse when they are trying to do something nice for you.

When someone does something nice for me I like to find a way to do something nice back.
