Pretty good. There are certain wines i stick to when ordering at restaurants - Cotes du Rhone, Pinot Noir, Chianti Classico (or any sangiovese wine). With whites, i'll stick to Rieslings, Sauv Blancs or Pinot Grigio.

There are certain wines i love on its own, but stay away from when pairing it with food (i.e., anything super sweet or heavy).

Yep! Once you know what type you like and are familiar with brands, it gets easier!

I went to the liquor store once and they had suggested pairings for wines. The one I always go for was suggested to be paired with chinese food and pizza. I'm what you call classy.

I will pretty much drink any white wine out there, so I usually go with the house wine. I'm not fancy! Haha

I like sweet, so I usually quiz the waiter. Sometimes I get to try before committing to a glass or bottle. When in doubt I order Rising or Moscato and as a back up Zinfandel.

You should go to a wine store and try out samples to get a feel for what you like so you know what to order next time.

I generally don't drink wine out for this reason...plus, one glass at a restaurant is usually as much as a bottle! lol I must be cheap...

That being said, we have a liquor store near us that lets you sample from 20 different wines at any given day. They give you a card which you put in the machine, and the wine spits out into a glass! I think you can try 5 per day. It's great!

I would say we’re all right/pretty good at picking wine at a restaurant. I keep a list of wines we like at restaurants on my phone, which helps!

If we are not familiar with any of the wines on the wine list, we pick a midpriced price point and a type we like (i.e., Malbec, Chianti, Rhone red) and ask the server for a recommendation from there.

My favorite wines have both been from Olive Garden and I only discovered them because they offered me a taste first!

I can't seem to find one I like at a restaurant (which sucks because I feel like I'm wasting money).
