Yes, but I've been cooking for a long time, and I'm a lover of big complicated meals.
For big feasts like Thanksgiving or Christmas, I usually end up making some things the day before (ones that will taste as good or better after a night in the fridge) and reheating just before we eat.

Yep, I think I'm pretty good at it. But I'm the opposite of you, @mrbee I can never do it with breakfast! I always make the waffles too early and the eggs too late!

i've gotten better at it over the years--there was a time it took me 3 hours to cook relatively easy dishes. nowadays with 2 kids, i'm all about simple, easy to prepare meals, so one pot cooking, crockpot or casseroles prepared the night before to stick in the oven when i get home. I try to make meals that we can all eat as i don't make made to order meals for each person, we all eat the same thing.

Yes, I'm good at it. But I haven't always been good at it. I feel like it's one of those things, like chopping and other cooking basics, that seem daunting at first but with time become second nature :)

We don't tend to make complicated dishes, and we eat mostly one-pot meals. For the times we do have multiple dishes, I keep things on low heat and cover, or I will turn the oven to 200 or so and just stick stuff in there.

I'm lucky to have a LO who enjoys eating cold food. Hot/warm food scares him. I'm horrible at timing, and only one dish comes out hot. I don't mind but DH prefers hot food.

No, but I'm really good at using the microwave lol I don't mind serving DH food that's not piping hot, but when we have company, I struggle with this issue.

Nope, not good at this at all. Last night the steak was getting cold while the potatoes and greenbeans were super hot.

We usually make just one or two dishes for each meal, so we don't really worry about this! Usually something like a pot of curry, pot roast, fried rice, or friend noodles.

But I do see my mom and my MIL always making multiple dishes and it always impresses me and they are mostly still warm-ish by the time it's time to eat.

Sometimes I don't time the dishes correctly, but then I just stick everything that's already finished in the oven on warm until the things on the stovetop are finished---or if worse comes to worse, in our toaster oven on warm--then I finish the rest and serve it all warm.

I am, but I've also been cooking since I was a teenager (and cooking for a family of 5). My DH still has trouble with this, too. He'll make breakfast and make the toast and eggs first instead of frying the bacon first!

I am not very good at this, but DH is! I get stressed out when I have too many things cooking at once... So my timing is never right. DH, however, will have dinner ready on time when I get home from work and everything is hot. I don't know how he does it!!

I made a bunch of dishes for the kids this weekend, and served them all pretty cold (except for the last one I cooked). Cooking fail... :(

Later I asked Bee for help with this, and she explained two things to me that blew my mind:

* It helps to start cooking the slowing cooking thing dish, and then end with the fasting cooking dish.
* It also helps to cook several things in the oven at the same time.

I have much to learn... sometimes the learning curve is a bit daunting! Dinner is like 10x harder than breakfast. Once the kids start eating better, we'll just start cooking one thing for dinner... can't wait!

Are you good at preparing multiple dishes and keeping them all warm by the time they are served?
