Xander is soooo happy at daycare and has really thrived there. And they are awesome with Logan too. There are few "perks" I wish we have, but at the same time, that's why our rate is lower than other centers in the neighborhood. She's amazing with him and it is the only place he takes a good nap other than at home. Now we live 15-20 min away and I am trying to find something else that will work just as well since I only work part time. It's a wonderful nature preschool. The tuition is a bit expensive and it's further from our house than I would like but totally worth it for us. LO goes to a small Montessori/RIE school a few minutes from home. The space, teachers, parents, and kiddos are amazing ... It's pricey, but actually cheaper per hour than our (not so experienced) nanny was. It's not a terrible commute, but we now live 2 miles from my office, and I drive 15-20 minutes (traffic depending) in the opposite direction to get there. </p> <p>But we love it, and he loves it, so we manage. It's an in-home daycare and the people are nice, but ever so often something will happen that makes me go "huh, not what I expected." It's nothing dangerous or unsafe, just not how I would have anticipated handling something. IMO they don't have enough free play and she comes home with at least 2 worksheets a day (at 3.5!!). Her teacher taught pre-K last year, and I think has sort of unreasonable expectations for this age. But in general I like the staff there, and LO seems happy.
