I'm a federal govt attorney, so the benefits are excellent, pay is much lower than my counterparts in private practice, but my agency promotes lawyers to 6 figures fairly quickly. I didn't go to school for the money, so I make more than enough. However, my current job is so boring. I would like to move back to the east coast and my company doesn't have an east coat branch anymore. I'm not really sure I like my job. It has changed so much. As for my career, yeah, I like it. I'm happy with it. I think I just need to find a job closer to home and doing something I like. I love my job, but the project I designed and oversee will end in 5 years. There is a chance that my coworker could retire around that time and I could take over her job, but it's probably still a few years early for that. Without that happening, I have no idea what I would do here. It's a government job with solid benefits, I'm good at the work, I get to have a part time schedule, and I get along with my bosses and coworkers well.
