This will more than likely be me once LO is here. Thankfully, hubby worked in the pharmacy for over a decade and is pretty well versed in symptom spotting/treating and is level headed about everything. If something like this happens, I'll have to remind myself to hand the baby to the hubby and step away.

Aww it's ok, just a worried momma :) I think I am pretty level headed but I do let my imagination wander at times.

... As a parent or in general.

I'm not. I wish I was but I tend to over react (huge understatement lol) and I let my imagination run away with me! For example LO has a cold that includes a cough. I called his ped and she gave me a list of symptoms/signs to watch out for. He has none. I've googled croup, whooping cough, etc to death. Then last night we used the aspirator on him and he went hysterical. He was crying so hard that he started coughing and coughing really hard so it almost sounded like he was choking. I flipped out. I was sobbing and begging DH to take us to the doctor. I was SO convinced that his airways were swelling by the second and they'd be closed completely any moment. Once DH took him and soothed him and he calmed down he sounded completely fine but I still dragged us all to urgent care in the middle of the night. Elliot was smiling and playing with the doctor who confirmed that he just has a cold before asking if I was a first time mom with an amused look on his face. Gah stupid imagination!
