I was until I had my son. My father in law lets me take him to work, so now I'm paid to do a little work, but mostly just watch my son. Before that, though, I did the work of 4 people and hadn't gotten a raise in over 5 years. I made less than the receptionist at one point. But now that I hardly work at work, and I come in late, I'm definitely not underpaid.

Overworked? No not really. My job is horrible at scheduling so I have a lot of slow days. Underpaid- yep! It's embarrassing! I'm on the job hunt now, interview on Friday!

I'm definitely not overworked, and I am paid well. I'm lucky, even though it's really boring a lot of the time.

I'm not overworked right now. But I was overworked up until recently. Definitely underpaid--haven't had a raise in 4 years, not even a small bump for cost of living. But I will be leaving my job shortly and can't wait!

No question about it...I'm always really busy (although I don't mind being overworked) but my big issue is how badly I'm underpaid. My boss (the director) got laid off, they gave me almost all of her duties but I still make 80k less than she did. Sometimes I think there is definitely a case of age discrimination going on. In this economy though, I feel I just need to be happy I have a job.

Sort of. I'm definitely overworked. I'm a college professor, and I make pretty good pay for my position, but I still make a lot less than people in consulting and finance who have equally stressful jobs and equally long hours but get paid *a ton* more.

Overworked? Sort of, I tend to do my supervisors' job half the time, so my stress level is higher than it should be. Underpaid? Uh heck yes. I get paid peanuts, and it really frustrates me. I've decided that if I don't get promoted before I go on maternity leave, when I come back, I'm looking for a higher-paying job. I just can't justify working on a Master's degree to make pay roughly equal to a fast food supervisor.

Ugh, I'm a teacher - so yes I feel that my career tends more towards overworked and underpaid.

not overworked per se, but definitely underpaid for my experience (a price I paid when I took the job but I wanted a job closer to home). Not to mention the job is not quite what I was led on to believe it would be when I accepted. :-/

@belleoftheballe: lol! Ditto.

Well, at any other company with DH's job title, he would make double what he does...however, a lot of those company's have gone bankrupt recently so he is choosing job security over making more money. And his seniority doesn't transfer so, he would start from the bottom. He works really hard though and in dangerous situations so I do think he is over worked and under paid.

Probably not. I have a set 40 hour week office job with paid overtime if I want it and get paid ok.

Sometimes.... I work for my moms ministry so most of the time it's pretty laid back. When we have events it gets pretty crazy as I'm graphic designer, diy decor maker, event planner, and coordinator and my mom isn't exactly one to be all gung-ho about deadlines so most things get stacked up pretty quick. lol

I figure that since it's like that only 2-3 months out of the year I can deal with the small salary. =)

Yes. I have a cushy job when it's slow, when it's busy it's stressful. Either way I don't make near what I should. If it doesn't change when my boss turns 65 and semi-retires, IE: golfs more and expects more from me, in May, then I'm outta there!

I'm pretty lucky, my job is pretty easy and I'm paid well, however, I do know a lot of people in my industry who have less experience but work for a different company who make more than me. Which sucks.

I don't know that I am really, I have a pretty laid back job, but when there is work to be done, it's really stressful! I don't have a lot of opportunity to make more money in my position though.

DH is def. overworked and underpaid, he won't get a raise until his crew leader retires and he takes over though!

What about you?
