Whether it be dance, 4H, gymnastics, football, cheerleading, basketball, soccer. Anything they want to do they can try. I remember being forced to play t-ball. I hated it. I was so miserable and then since you had to share helmets there was head lice. Worst extra curricular of my life!!!!! Secretly hoping one of my LOs go into dance. I grew up in a highly religious family, so most of my activities revolved around church. We're atheists, so we won't do any of that. We'll pretty much let her try things that she's genuinely interested in. I did basketball and softball and soccer and gymnastics and dance/ballet and cheerleading and piano and horseback riding camp. </p> <p>I don't know what we'll do with LO. I think I'd probably only want to do one activity at a time for her. Probably let her pick to the extent she is able. I'd really like her to do some sort of karate, though. I tried a few other things, but those are the ones that stuck. LO does gym and we will probably enroll her in swimming and dance when she's a little older. I took basic swim lessons which I enjoyed. I did other activities as a young child: ballet, gymnastics, cheer clinics, violin, piano, and quit them all. I much preferred and benefitted from free play and time with friends through church events, and traveling with my parents. So I will be more focused on taking L to church and traveling and free time to play and explore especially outside when she's young. He's already in gymnastics because I teach it. And does violin but he picked that over piano. We have talked and we want them doing one sport, one art at all times. They can choose but must finish the sessions no matter what. We did offer soccer when he was younger but he didn't show much interest. And he has been doing swimming. But I consider that a safety skill not a sport.
