It's really sad to me because we have been friends since 2nd grade. We had a few distant periods during high school because of me dating a guy and her being several years younger in terms of maturity. We got really close again during college but then she started dating a guy who was a bit of a druggie (she is a SUPER sheltered Christian girl so this was out of character for her) and she didn't like that I wouldnt support her or lie to her parents for her. Fast forward a couple years and she skipped my bridal shower to go to the state fair (which is in our town so she could have just gone two hours later) and never even told me congratulations at our wedding. We message every now and the and occasionally I will buy her dinner when she's in town. We're just at very differen points in our life now. My best friend from kindergarten and I grew apart and had different friends throughout school. However, she had a huge crush on this guy forever and when I started dating him in high school, she pretty much hated me. It was one of those things where everyone knew she liked him, but she was too shy to ever say anything. That guy is now DH. </p> <p>I did have a lot of close friends from elementary and middle school. 3 of them were my bridesmaids. 2 of those 3 went to the same college as I did and we were roommates the entire time.
