I'm you and DH is your DH.<br /> I'm not a total clean freak (I hate doing true cleaning like the shower) but I am a neat. I have to have certain things done before I can relax (living room totally neat, kitchen clean and tidy, bed made nicely and turned down). I sometimes get lazy but can't go more than 24 hours without caving.<br /> DH isn't a total slob but he doesn't really care if anything is neat or clean. When he was a bachelor he didn't clean or tidy a single thing, he just let his cleaning lady do it - but she only came every 2 weeks. So dirty dishes would sit in the sink for 2 weeks, for example. But he's also a minimalist (didn't own much crap), ordered in every meal, and used a lot of paper plates, so it never got too out of control. </p> <p>We finally caved and got a cleaning lady weekly. It's absolutely life changing for me. A total luxury, I don't NEED it. We don't like messes and a ton of clutter, but we're not neat freaks and don't have a spotless house, or even a "clean" (by most people's definition) home most of the time. Our home is lived in. There's always toys somewhere, a few dishes in the sink, laundry unfolded somewhere, etc. </p> <p>I'm probably a tiny beat cleaner than DH, but he's really not bad.
