I was scared out of my mind and had nobody to talk to! I lost a lot of friends in that time because we weren't able to relate. They were out at the bar while I was at home with a newborn. </p> <p>I turn 30 soon and I still have many friends who are child-less, but my sister is 15 weeks pregnant, so we're getting grandbaby number two on my side of the family. It's nice to be able to support her during her pregnancy and talk about all the weird stuff that happens to your body! Its also really likely that he/she will be the first grandchild on my side as well, because I only have one sister and she is in college (19) and hasn't yet had a serious boyfriend. But hey, I guess you never know.</p> <p>As for our friends, we will probably be the first as well. There are only a few other couples in my group of friends that are married, but they expressed waiting a while (we are 22/23). He was also the first grandchild on both sides (mine and his dads) and first great-grandchild on his dads. DD will be my family's second grandchild, and DH's family's "first". They think of DS as a grandson though. We are both the oldest child and we both have four younger siblings. Also, most of my cousins have kids now as well as nearly all of them are older than me.</p> <p>On the plus side - this will be the first grandchild for my parents, which I am so excited about! It will be the fifth for DH's parents but they're still pretty excited as well.</p> <p>Another perk - I now have a massive wardrobe of maternity clothes, covering all seasons, styles, and sizes, to choose from, courtesy of all of my formerly pregnant friends. A lot of our friends have decided not to have kids. We have one couple that has 3 year old twins. The other friend is just begging her boyfriend to marry her so she can have babies. The other friends (close ones) don't want them. </p> <p>As for family - my brother beat us out for first grandchild. My husband's sisters are 7 &amp; 8 years older than him and and are done having kids.
