My in-laws are divorced and each remarried. My MIL remarried someone 20+ years older than she is, so she has step-grandkids but they are all college age or older now - she considers LO to be her first grandchild. My FIL inherited 2 young step-grandkids when he remarried, and although he loves the step-grands to death, he still considers LO as his first grandchild. So first grandchild from a daughter! ;)</p> <p>I've found the best way to deal with all of this -first grandchild or not- is to have no expectations. That way you're not disappointed! Sometimes you think your parents will act or do certain things because it's their first/grandchild. But they don't and you get disappointed. Or they DO but not as much as you think they should and you still get disappointed! They have no obligations to do anything! haha just speaking from what I've seen from my BIL.<br /> My mom on the other hand is super grandma.
