It turned into a family reunion so we flew in. My 4 yo was into it. She wore her glasses way more than she should have walking around the campsite for hours but also used them for proper viewing. My son, just turned 2, pooped as it first started to get dark (unclear if it was related but after days of constipation I figure the timing has to be somewhat related). He asked me to hold him as it got darker. During the totality he asked me to "turn it back on". Then when he looked at the totality he called it "fireworks". I also thought it would be darker. I asked DD to stay closer to me thinking she wouldn't be able to see me but it never got pitch black. My 4 year old loved it, my brother and I cried and my 1.5 year old ate snacks and didn't even ever look up! I'd ordered eclipse glasses a month ago &amp; just yesterday saw the modification to put a paper plate around the glasses for little ones, so I prepped those for LO, but she cared for all of 2 seconds. We looked at shadows and that was it. We were nowhere near coverage though (I think 60%).</p> <p>Daycare explicitly informed all the parents that the kids would be kept indoors during the eclipse times so that nobody would be tempted to look at the sun. Made a pinhole projector and it actually works- I can see where it's partially covered.
