But what has really amazed me is the wit and repartee that seems to be a regular part of how the British husband-and-wife team talk to each other.</p> <p>It's actually encouraged me to try and be a bit more verbally sophisticated. Not sure if it's working though. I just don't know how to pronounce a lot of fancy words. Like today I wanted to say the word "fealty," but I realized that I'm not sure I know how to pronounce it. It probably has something to do with the fact that I've never said that word out loud in my life. Sad, but true.</p> <p>The even sadder thing is that there are several thousand other words that are in that same category: I know what they mean, but I've never heard them said out loud. I need to get smarter friends. Or be smarter myself, ha!</p> <p>Are you witty and engage regularly in repartee, with your SO or with others? </p>
