The department I just moved from was full of extremely lazy people. They didn't care one iota about moving up. The department I just started at is not competitive, but in a healthy way. It's only a three person department, and the other woman at my level has already told me flat out that she doesn't want boss's job, so I'm being primed to take it! :)</p> <p>And yes, I am competitive, but I haven't had anyone to compete against in a while.
