Toronto gets a cold, but not that cold winter, but we need heat on for about 5-6 months. We sometimes turn on the AC in the summer, especially if it is humid! The issue is that we have a 3-story-townhouse and an old, inefficient heating unit. It's 100 degrees here so our AC is on 24 hours a day. The cheapest months are obviously the mildest months, but in the summer our gas bill is minimal and our electric bill is big, and vice versa in the winter.
