We aren't wealthy by any means but I would say we actually make more money than most of our friends now that I'm working again. Obviously there are exceptions, but for the most part my DH's friends especially are having a hard time getting established.

I'd say we're in the middle, we have friends who earn way less, and friends who own mansions and drive expensive cars. We have friends who earn about the same but have no kids so it seems like they make more than us. Kids and child support are so spendy!

We are more well off, due to dh's job, abd due to the fact that a lot of ourcfriends are either in grad school or work for non profits. It has made things somewhat uncomfortable at times, but in general it hasn't made a difference to friendships. It us hard when we want to do something or go somewhere expensive and can't find anyone else who can afford to do it. Like shared vacations--we would love to do a big trip with another couple but we wouldn't be able to stay in the kinds of hotels we would want to.

We're about the same as our friends. The majority of our "couples friends" are also professors; so they and my husband make comparable salaries. All of our close friends are double income households, all are college graduates, all own homes.

we have a diverse group of friends (when it comes to income). Some of our friends are currently struggling, more make enough to live and save a little, and a few are very comfortable. We fall into the very comfortable range but that hasn't, luckily, affected our friendships. We all try to accommodate one another and be sensitive to each others limits.

Yeah, pretty close. Although most of our friends are dual income earners, which makes their choices really different if they have kids. We've always been committed to living on one income so that I could stay home with kids, and that means that our lives are different than a lot of our friends. I think we're all pretty comfortable with our choices, though, so it all works out well.

It varies... We're in the comfortable rather than wealthy range but definitely have friends who earn possibly double/triple what we do. We also have friends who are barely scraping by though so it helps us keep our situation in perspective.

About the same income & education wise, give or take a few who make more or less and some friends that haven't finished college vs. a few in Ph.D. programs.

It has caused some minor issues when it comes to group dinners and footing the bill--I once had a friend say that the people who make more money should add more to the bill. (And this was after no one wanted to just split the bill evenly, everyone wanted to itemize each entree/app).

We don't make a fortune but do make considerably more than most of our friends. Sometimes people will make comments about how my husband's profession pays such good money or how we have xyz which really annoys me because they have no idea how much he makes, how we save our money, etc. We can spend more on things we enjoy because we don't spend money on things like alcohol and sporting events. We just choose to spend/save differently.

We have friends on both sides. None of our friends are in the same field as husband and I, (and by that, DH and I are in two different fields), so we have different groups of friends who earn higher and lower wages than us.

Roughly we are pretty similar. Most of our friends are from college which will put you in a similar bracket. We def have some friends that re better off and some that are less well off though. It was only really awkward once on a group trip-- one friend who loves to throw money around and one where the couple is a teacher and a student.
There def are big differences in the way people spend their money. One friend is always trying to keep up with his two best friends who have way more money than him and it gets him in a lot of trouble!

No, we are, strangely enough (at our 65K income, combined) at the higher socioeconomic end of our friends. I don't know how to put it without sounding like a b****, but I had one set of friends tell me they had no savings account, even though both of them were working decent jobs. Soo.. it's really that we deal with our money better than the majority of our friends, not that we earn more.

We're all about the same. We're all comfortable, but not wealthy. No one is worried about putting food on the table and we all spend money doing things we like. We all also own homes and have decent cars, but none of us are driving Mercedes or living in mansions. I think we've all just finally reached the age where were holding good jobs and have goals.

Our local friends are mostly in the same bracket as us. My friends back home are mostly mostly more wealthy (I used to work on wall street and many of my friends still do). My husband's friends back home are predominantly in a lower bracket than us. I've never seen this cause any issues or discomfort though.

Most of our friends happen to be in the same ballpark as us. That's because most of our friends are from work and our neighborhood, therefore the commonalities. However, I've been on both sides of the spectrum and work with a diverse population, so have plenty of contact with other socio-economic groups.
