Yes! I've gotten chewed out so many times because usually DH is the one to pick them up, and they're fine and on their best behavior when home just with him. The minute I walk in, they go from Jekyll to Hyde. Sometimes I wonder if they'd all have the bestest relationship ever if I didn't come home till after bedtime.

DD is better behaved when there is only one parent... doesn't matter which one.

DD is a huge mama's girl and tends to be better behaved for me. Poor DH. She's definitely much better behaved with her babysitter than either of us though, but I feel like that's common. She's 2 1/2 and getting more stubborn and independent (and sassy) around here, but that isn't happening as much at daycare.

Oh I'm the softie so DD def does better w/ DH too. For bed time it's totally my fault.. I work all day so the ~30 min we have at night just to ourselves to cuddle and stuff, I soak it up! DH is more down to business like ok no talking go to sleep haha.

He is generally better for me, but I am the parent who sees him less. Maybe that's the common theme ... !

@sorrycharlie: Yes! DD is much better behave for DH.

She used to be a crying tantrum-throwing mess when I picked her up from daycare even though she had been an angel all day. Her daycare provider used to say when kids' moms are around, they feel safe and secure enough to let their guard down and feel all their feelings. She said it as a compliment but I remember thinking "It would be ok if she kept her guard up a little!!"

Yes! DS seems to go down better for DH, we both put him to bed, but he gets up at least once and DH puts him back to bed. If he's not there it takes way longer for me to get him to actually sleep.
And in general he seems to whine much less for DH than me.

We had a babysitter on Sunday. DD didn't cry when we left, nor did she whine or cry the entire time we were gone. She laid still for her diaper changes. As soon as we got home she threw herself on me and started whining. 🙄 Then she cried and wriggled during her diaper change, which is what she usually does.

I've been working lately and my kids are very used to me doing bedtime most of the time, or split with my husband's help if he's not working.

The last couple nights I haven't been here for bedtime..they go RIGHT. DOWN.

Like..my toddler walks to her crib and puts her arms up. What in the ..it's not fair! Bedtime is a screaming mess for me lately. Everybody is obsessed with me, apparently.

I'm kind of jealous. They used to go down easy for me, too.
