My 4yr old niece was horrible at puzzles until her eyesight was checked- turns out that she need bifocals at age 2.5, and patch therapy. Someone gave her a 12 piece jigsaw puzzle from Mudpuppy and she figured it out after a couple tries. I got her a few more similar ones, same thing. Went up to a 24 piece one, took her a bit longer but basically once she does it a few times, she can put them together in a few minutes. The first time she did one (wooden shape puzzle), she did the whole thing by herself and barely even looked at the pieces. She can easily pick out the corner pieces, but has more trouble with the regular edge pieces. He has several Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles and has been obsessed with them lately. He also plays a puzzle game on the Kindle.
