If it wasn't for the move, I don't think she'd be ready for awhile. I don't think she'll give up all aspects of her work though, she'll find a new role I think. My dad (68) probably won't retire for another 5+ years, given his work position now. They're both in really good health.</p> <p>Fil didn't retire officially before he passed away when he was 76. He seems to think he wants to retire, but he also talks about consulting, sitting on boards, etc. so he will keep busy. My mom has worked sporadically over the years, but I think she's done for good. </p> <p>My MIL and SFIL have always been "self employed" and continue to live off their investments. My dad's been retired for about 5-6 years I think. They do a lot of kid care for my brother and love their life.</p> <p>ETA:<br /> My inlaws. My MIL calls herself "retired." Right after we married, she went on disability. I don't know if she's on it and have no idea what she does all day. My FIL still works. They both retired but kept supply teaching, and then a few years ago they stopped entirely.
