Today, yes. The other appointments, no. This time we got in at 8am, I had vitals and blood work done by 8:15 and we waited until 9:15 in an exam room for the doctor. That was annoying. At least I had my husband to keep me company.

Last appt. I ended waiting 2 hrs. It's been really frustrating. They ran out of cups, so I was dying of thirst too.

I have had to wait at my Dr's office. She practices by herself, so if something comes up, its all up to her. I'm ok with waiting though, I don't really have anywhere to be or anything, but DH is really impatient and can't handle it!

Also, its nice to know that as her patient, if something came up with me, she would take the time to help me.

My normal doctor isn't like that but when I went to the specialist the first time I waited for 2 hours. No joke, 2 freaking hours. Doctors offices just suck, lol.

The RN I was originally seeing was like this. I ended up leaving their practice due to their non-plussed attitude after I suffered abdominal trauma in a car accident at 11 weeks. The icing on the cake was my hospital required follow up appt with my OB resulted in waiting 1+ hours in the waiting room with my husband. We were finally taken into an exam room only to wait another 30+ minutes and then had to be evacuated for a fire alarm! We also witnessing several patients with later appt times being seen before us. Once the OB made time for me she didnt do an exam, didnt check for heartbeat and basically told me I was SOL due to the baby not being viable. I understood that was the realiy of the situation but this RNs bedside manner was piss poor (pardon my french). After making us wait for nearly 2 hours to not even get looked at they claimed they were waiting for records from the hosital I was at from the car accident. Common courtesy and basic customer service would have you either reschedule the appt or ask your patient if they mind waiting.

Sorry this post is so long, needless to say good for you for complaining. You are paying for a service and shouldnt always get excuses!

My ob drives me crazy. I like morning appointments on Fridays between. 8 to 930 before I work. Once he was on vacation so I saw an RN another time he was late in surgery so I had to see the same RN...then last time he "wasn't quite in yet" so I was kept waiting alone in the room for several minuets. Ugh. I mean...if you're not available this early then don't set appointment's..
But I know its different if there are emergencies.

We waited, on average, 30 to 45 minutes in the waiting room and the another 15ish minutes in the exam room during my pregnancy. My husband hated waiting but I didn't mind since I have the wirld's best doc and she never rushed through her appointments. She also apologized every time so that helped. I never complained since I understand it is like that at most doc offices.

When we arrived at the doctor for my first appointment, we were taken back for the ultrasound within two minutes. We were taken to the exam room after that and we had to wait around fifteen to twenty minutes because the meeting the doctors were in ran over. But I've waited much longer at the doctor before so I didn't think it was too bad.

My normal wait time to see my doctor is about 5-10 minutes. And even then, my doctor always apologizes about the wait time!

He's the only doctor I don't experience long wait times for.

if we had an ultrasound and appointment that day we had to wait for 30 minutes before ultrasound tech would get me... an hour until I was called back to the actual appointment and then we would wait like 20 minutes until the dr. saw me for 3 minutes. it was ridiculous.I think they forget that we have lives too!

Ugh that is SO annoying! I have been surprised at how prompt my doctor's office is. I never have to wait more than 5 mins to be taken to the exam room and there I usually have to wait no more than 5 minutes.

I'd love to schedule for first thing in the morning, but due to the location of the office, I'd be battling major NYC rush-hour traffic to get there. Then I'd be the late one!

It gets me so frustrated- I'm sure my blood pressure was up at yesterday's appointment.

I also recommend trying to schedule your appointments for first thing in the morning, or at least before noon. Just gives them less time to fall behind. Doesn't always work, but I've found we're usually seen within about 10 min of our appt time when we do that. However, this is experience at a fertility clinic and my HMO OB. When I had traditional private insurance, I would frequently wait an hour for my doc!

It was ALWAYS like that with my ob when I was pregnant with DS.

This go round it's not like that at all.... now it may also be that my midwife comes to my house so I'm not exactly set up for an exact appt time.

yes, i routinely wait up to an hour in the waiting room, and another half hour in the u/s room to see my OB. i never complain. why do i put up with this? because i LOOOVE my OB (as do his other patients) and he never rushes through any of his appointments. i just remember to bring reading materials with me and factor in a few hours out of my schedule everytime i have an app't.

Yes I spend more time waiting than I do in actual consultation with my OB. I hate waiting in the exam room, but this is the same at every hospital or doctors office I have ever visited. I usually go slightly early too so that makes me feel like I've been waiting longer than ever

I had my 19 week midwife appointment today at 2:30. I was kept waiting in the waiting room for almost 40 minutes! Then I had to wait in an exam room for several more minutes. Then I spent less than 20 min with the midwife (and it would have ben shorter if she'd had an easier time finding the heartbeat).

When I complained to the nurse, she said there had been some emergencies. I understand that today was emergencies, but my last visit it was a problem with the computer that had me waiting over half an hour.

I understand things come up, but I also think there are ways to schedule a day with some wiggle room to account for them.

I ducked out of work for this appointment and wound up being gone for almost 2 hours!

Does your office leave you waiting? Have you spoken up?
