That was exactly me. The worst was I got awful pain in my elbow joints. The brace never helped me. I would ice my joints at night and slept with my arm fully extended out to the side. Those things helped a little. It took about a solid 3 weeks after delivery for it to go away. It's the worst.

@Paddington10: I had/have that twice. Whole arm pain/swelling. Ugh. It gets better after delivery. Eventually. It is awful.

Had the same thing. I was told pg induced carpel tunnel. It sucked and progressively got worse. Went away within a month after delivery when my swelling went down. It was at its worst the week of and the week after delivery. I was basically told nothing that could be done by the OB and chiropractor.

Ditto for me, I feel your pain! Carpal tunnel and it can definitely affect the whole hand. In fact, my wrist is really not involved at all. It's not fun! Wearing a brace has helped - but especially at night. I got a softer one for nighttime and it has made a big difference so far.

Yup, exactly what I had. Pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. I wore braces (mostly at night) and it fortunately went away within a few days of giving birth. But it was awful! I couldn't drive or even open a bottle of water. It was in both hands.

I had this in my first trimester this time, though I don't remember it happening in other pregnancies. It's stopped happening now though in the second trimester. Though I could make a fist my hand just would fall asleep a lot, esp at night.

My left hand tingles/goes numb if I lay on my back in bed...particularly if I've got my phone in it :) This has been happening since very early in my pregnancy this time around.

Sounds like carpal tunnel - I've had it both pregnancies; first it started around 25 weeks, this time around 30 weeks. It sucks!!!

I had the same symptoms and my OB said it was pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. It was SO bad at night, I would wake up in the middle of the night with both arms and hands tingling/asleep, and I couldn't get back to sleep. And then for a couple hours in the morning I would struggle but it would go away until that night. Sleeping with the braces on helped a lot.
It went awake pretty quickly after delivery.

OK! With my first son I had no pg symptoms. This one has been so different. My latest odd symptom: I cannot make a fist with my right hand (predominant hand). It KILLS in the morning and at night, with pain that goes from my hand to elbow and even to my shoulder sometimes. It gets better during the day, it's definitely horrible when lying down. What the hell! I would think it's carpal tunnel but it affects the whole hand. WTF! Anyone else? I bought a brace... :(
