I don't go out as much.... but I blame my friends more than myself. They always tend to assume I'm busy with the baby. Just like when I got married they assumed I was busy with my husband, and never bothered to ask me. Just because I have a baby doesn't mean I can't go to lunch or dinner, she's perfectly capable of coming with me!

after charlie i still went out quite a bit. i want to go out post olive, but it's much harder since mr. bee can't put both kids to bed. i did go to a wedding 2 weeks after olive was born, and i go out at least once a month to see friends or a concert. i force myself to go sometimes because when you work from home, it's easy to just never leave!

I sort of cut myself off from people when I could but then again, I had PPD. But honestly, 50% of cutting myself off was because I was just so tired and focused on baby that I just didn't want to talk to my friends.

We tried to remain as social as possible, but we let everyone (friends AND family) know that we needed them to come to us. Since we live in the 'burbs and pretty far from most of our friends (and very far from all family), it definitely cut down on our social life a bit, but everyone seemed very understanding and lots of our close friends are willing to come over often. Once RJ started sleeping thru the night reliably, we started using babysitters at least a few times a month for date nights and nights out with friends. We're homebodies, but we love hanging out and playing games so we try to get together with friends as much as possible. But in the beginning, if they didn't come to us, we didn't see them :T

A few of my friends have had babies and stopped returning calls, emails, texts, IMs, etc. for months. It turns out that one of my friends developed PPD so that was understandable. So now when ever I don't hear from someone, I can't help but worry that they may have PPD as well. Did you cut yourself off or did you remain as social as your new time constraints allowed?
