If someone betrayed a confidence or disappointed me, it would really affect the friendship.</p> <p>Now I am more easygoing. Part of it is that I don't confide in my friends as much - but also, I realized that if I held my friends to such high standards, after a while I wouldn't have many friends left! So I've learned to sort the people I know into friends vs acquaintances, and that's helped me a lot. It's not all-or-nothing anymore.</p> <p>As you've gotten older, are you more or less demanding of your friends? </p>
