Before bed I put coconut oil and then aqua phor over top. The rash around babies mouths is normal and can be from drool, teething and food (you'd break out if you slathered food all over your face every day too). My LO often has one and I leave her alone. You also want to be careful with cortisone because it will permanently thin skin. And through process of elimination we've narrowed it down to 2 sources: drool and allowing her to self feed (since she gets food all around her mouth). Per Pediatrics recommendations we do the following, before bed I apply Laninoh Lanolin and that seems to mostly clear it up. I noticed it's for redness too and has ingredients like eucalyptus and peppermint oil.
