My MIL brought like six pounds of soup bones from Flushing and my mom had THREE huge pots of three different soups boiling on the stove at all times after I had Wagon Jr. Miyuk Gook, Moo Gook, and Conamuhl Gook for those of you familiar with Korean! I am NOT a big soup fan so she'd make me other things and serve me a bowl of soup with every single meal. I was so thankful because I had a really rough recovery. So, she brought up an alternative plan of having confinement food delivered to me for a month. It was 2k just for food. I decided against it because I'm not a soup drinker (all of my Chinese relatives are rolling over now) nor can I stand herbal medicine. I grew up in a very Americanized Chinese family that was non traditional, so I wasn't going to pay 2k for food I may or may not eat. Supposedly the seaweed/iron is good for milk production. But, really, it's an easy and filling meal, so sign me up! </p> <p>My mom is only half korean, but since her mom is full korean and lived with her for 2 weeks after we were born, she has some superstitions up her sleeve. She thinks I should only leave the house for the first month for dr's appts...but uh, no way :) </p> <p>I would make as many of the soups in advance and freeze them!
