I was induced (basically 50% efface and a fingertip dilated when we started) and I got to 100% effaced and 2 cm. Baby was sunny side up and I was dilating unevenly. They needed my contractions to be stronger so he would turn around and fully dilate me. I was only about 4 cm and couldn't handle the pit anymore without it! After an hour I was 6cm - they were happy with my progress so I got it.</p> <p>DD2 - I was induced. At 4cm they decided they wanted to break my water and Dr recommended I get it before they broke it if I did want one. After laboring like that for about 4 hours my midwife basically told me I was getting an epi and she was going to use Pitocin to get the contractions even stronger and closer together in order to get the pushing going. For me I received it when I was about 4 cm with DD1, the doc said "I'm going in for 2 scheduled C-sections, if you want one I'd do it now because it would be a few hours before I get back" so I did! </p> <p>DD2 I got it in right away in the OR because I was having a RCS. </p>
