Everyone ooh's and ahh's over Maddy, but when her big brother is with us (he's 10) they still interact with him (could be because of bright red hair though). I notice my two stepdaughters don not get as much attention from strangers, but equal with family. I get a lot of questions about his age mainly. In terms of friends and family, he definitely got a lot more attention when he was an infant/early toddler. I hope he still receives the same level of attention once his sibling comes. DS is a year, but he's our only child. In the last few days he's gotten lots of attention and compliments when we've been out and about, which I just eat up. He's also entering a bashful stage, which is surprising to me. I thought it usually hits earlier, like 9 months, and thought DS might miss that phase. I've noticed that when we bring them to birthday parties and the like, people ooh and aah over Olive but generally ignore Charlie. I guess he's lost that new baby smell! It's true online as well: when Bee posts about Charlie on Hellobee, people don't comment as much as they do when she posts about Olive. At what age do babies become less compelling and people tend to start losing interest?
