Around 2.5 we brought Noelle to watch Planes because a friend said her son (2 months younger than N), went to the movies before and he did great. Well, the kids only lasted 10 minutes! It was probably cuz Planes was a bad movie - even kids know when it is!

Took N to watch Frozen recently (at 3), and she watched about an hour of it! She wasn't able to sit still to finish the whole movie though. Will try again next year, at 4.

Popcorn helps!

Eta: make sure you get a refund on tickets if you don't watch the whole movie. We were able to get refunds both times. It's still a fun experience even if they don't watch the whole way through.

We went to a winter festival on the weekend and we made it for the last 45 minutes of a movie (Despicable Me 2). He sat on my lap and ate popcorn the entire time. Despicable Me is one of his favourites though. I think we will take him to the theatre in the next few months (he's 2 now).

Or what age do you think you'll first bring them?

I'm thinking about trying to take him in April to see Disney's Bears because he goes absolutely nuts when the preview comes on. He really really likes bears. I doubt he'll make it long, but I still think it might be fun. He'll be 2.
