I just turned 30 and still don't feel like a "real" adult--bring on the birthdays!!

Seriously though, I've never been afraid of getting older--like @ducky: said, every decade feels like a new beginning

I'm looking forward to 40, too :) I dunno, maybe it's because every decade alive that I celebrate, it feels a bit like a new beginning.

Probably at 21, I don't dread it but I don't really look forward to it with excitement. Turning 26 next month and I like this age, but don't mind ageing!

@travellingbee: me, too. Mentally and time of life stuff I don't mind aging at all, but physically? Ugh. My health/ wrinkles definitely started acting up at 33ish, and I feel like I have been warp-speed aging since then. 35 was the first b-day I minded and it caught me off guard.
I don't mind aging really but I do look older than some of my peers (desert sun+ Irish skin= no bueno), and I think I will feel better about it when their wrinkles catch up with mine :silly:

I feel like sometimes I'm Ted Mosby ... where I think childhood was an appetizer, adulthood is the main course but old age is your dessert.

I'm really looking forward to just reflecting back on life and doing whatever I want when I'm older, enjoying my grand kids and not having to worry about money since we saved for retirement and made good choices during adulthood (hopefully! *crosses fingers*)

@mrbee: Oh just the stuff people normally say! More confidence, more sure of yourself, all that identity stuff...! Career is likely in a more stable place, have more money in your pocket (not sure how true this is when raising young kids, ha), and just more overall stability in general. Less of the self-doubt and questioning that comes with being in your 20s and starting off in the real world.

I loved this post on Humans of New York today:

<< "I’m five!"
"Does it feel any different than four?"
"It feels less smaller." >>

http://www.humansofnewyork.com/post/100082882456/im-five-does-it-feel-any-different-than

Getting older is fun at first: you keep getting more privileges. You can drive, you can drive without restrictions, you can drink (21), you can rent cars (25). After 25 though, I think the privileges kind of stop happening and you just get older ha. I don't think I really looked forward to a birthday after 21!

At what age did you stop looking forward to getting older?
