@regberadaisy: a couple of weeks? But it might have also been my supply rebounding after the illness, not sure. I never added that pump back in though.

I think around 7-9 months. I started producing less at around 6 months and she started drinking more around 7 months so I couldn't keep up and our freezer supply was dwindling. I ended up renting a hospital grade pump when she was 8 months old and I kept it until 12 months.

With DD1 I never pumped enough so we supplemented. But after she turned one my pumping supply suddenly dropped and I wasn't even getting an ounce out of each session. That's when I weaned from the pump.

Right now with #2 she is drinking more and my output is decreasing so working on bumping it back up.

For me, I think when LO was around 7 months. I was an EPer and had a huge supply so decided to drop a pump--but then I got a sinus infection and a stomach big in quick succession and my supply tanked (for me). I went from 45 oz a day to 24-25.

That month was hard because LO was taking 30 oz a day... I burned through a lot of frozen and then started The more milk plus pills and eventually I got back up to 30 oz a day.

For me, 9-12 months were the hardest because my supply had dropped and getting enough for the next day was really hard. I had to pump around the clock to have enough. :(

I think 7-9 months because I couldn't pump what he was consuming in a day so I'd constantly worry that we weren't going to make it and we had to unfreeze a lot of my freezer stash. Around 9 months, he dropped a feeding and that was what allowed me to make it to a year. Pumping was easiest probably 10-12 months because my supply was meeting demand and I knew what I was doing. Also, I became more confident that I could make it to a year.

I agree that right now is really hard. I don't have advice, since our babies are the same age, but tons of commiseration!

We did discover that T is trying to go every 4 instead of every 3. That makes my pumping at work number a little lower.

If you pumped for a year or majority of a year, at what point was pumping (getting the ounces) hardest and easiest.

I'm at six months and it's hard because he's not sleeping well, but he's big so he's hungry and he's still not really eating any food. I'm trying to remember if it gets easier.
