We keep toddler flushable wipes by the toilet since I do his wiping at 4 years old. He doesn't seem to have the coordination for it yet. We'll start practicing from 4 years old on. He only poops at home too. At 3, I did it for him, at 4, I had him do it and helped as necessary. He just turned 5 and I am trying to get him used to doing it himself. But we threw away a fair amount of underwear at first ;) I'd say she got the hang of it around...3ish? It's definitely more difficult because his arms are not that long! We have him wipe once and then we do the rest. He's going to be 4 soon and we've gotten stricter on it - he has to wipe twice and then we do hand-over-hand for the last one. Unless it's super messy poop, she does ok on her own. I still check each time though; not sure when that will end. My LO is very interested in wiping herself after #2 but she is 4 and just doesnt have the coordination to achieve this without making a mess, so I dont allow her.
