It was more about timing for us than readiness for our daughter. (She showed some signs of readiness, but more importantly a long weekend in the summer worked best for my schedule.) By 3 days she was going pee on the potty 90% of the time. The last 2 days at school have gone great with only a single pee accident. She has been pooping in her undies though (yuck!), so we've been talking about that with her. Naps at daycare have been in undies. We did the three day method starting at 30 months and he figured out pee right away and poo took about 2 weeks. He was out of daytime diapers within a week and nighttime within 3 months. Most single steps were not high enough. It is also the perfect height for washing hands and brushing teeth, so my child can just move it over afterward to wash his hand. We just used the baby bjorn toilet trainer seat... it feels more secure with the adjustable opening and it's great for boys. She didn't really show any "signs" but I wanted to give it a shot. We had been putting her on the potty for fun starting around 19-20 months just so she wasn't afraid of it. Then we just went for it. They just decided they were ready, but I took a slower track since they were younger. I figured since she knew what was going on that maybe we could try. So that weekend, it was cold and rainy so we decided to do the "3 day method". It was beyond exhausting and stressful with lots of accidents. It took about 5 or 6 days before she was catching on.
