Our nursery will stay the same for LO2 and DD will move over to the (currently) guest room once its time.... so I feel like I'll be calling it the nursery forever.

@NaturallyCathy: I guess I'd probably just call it LO's bedroom but if a crib and changing table is still in there I think I'd still classify it as a nursery. I wouldn't say to a 2 year old 'go to your nursery' though :)

@TurtleDoves: Henry's been standing for nearly four, five months now and has been walking for nearly a month. He doesn't sleep in a sleep sack and his crib isn't on the absolute lowest setting yet (because with my pregnant belly, I wouldn't be able to reach him... as soon as LO is here, we're dropping it). He hasn't tried climbing out yet and I don't see him trying it for a few more months at least. I'd be scared to change his crib to the toddler rail until a few months from now just because I'm not sure what mayhem he'd get to if I changed it now!

And I'm assuming so too, on the nursery bit since the age difference is so little. It just makes sense.

@NaturallyCathy: I plan on converting his crib as soon as he can stand because I'm do scared he will climb out & fall that long distance. We will use rail though! So it's still a nursery to me;)
We plan on both LOs sharing a room but our LOs will be so close in age that I'm assuming it'll still be a nursery.

@BelugaBean: @TurtleDoves: @JerricaBenton: What about convertible cribs? I know I'll be turning Henry's crib into a toddler bed when he gets big enough and since he'll probably have to share his room with his new sibling after a while, the changing table will hang out in there too. Would you still call it a bedroom or a nursery?

And on a side note, didn't they have nurseries in England up until the child was something like eight? Or am I just thinking too much Peter Pan-ish?

I agree with @TurtleDoves: and @hilsy85: Sometime around two years old is when my baby will stop being a baby and on his way to being a pre-schooler. So I guess that's when I'll stop calling it a nursery. Of course, if my kids end up rooming together (which is a very high likelihood), I may have to extend it until he's nearly three and the next one is two!

Just curious. We will be moving into a new place when LO is about 11.5 months old. At that age is her room still a nursery? Because I always think nursery is for newborns
