Oh good! So glad to hear this. Well, not that it can last so long, but that it is very normal. I won't worry about it then and will just keep pushing his fluids.

@loveisstrange: oh yikes!! I really hope we don't deal with this for every single tooth. That is not fun!!

It always takes my little guys gut much longer to heal than ours. As long as he seems to be feeling ok, is eating and drinking enough, than I let it run it's coarse. It can take up to 10 days sometimes. We just went through it actually. I hope it stops soon!

Last time my LO had the stomach bug and we called for advice, they said diarrhea could linger for up to two weeks...luckily it only ended up being 4 days for him.

I generally don't unless she seems dehydrated. Diarrhea seems be one of those things that has to run through.

And C gets diarrhea every. single. time. she pops a tooth through.

i would just call and see if you can speak to a doctor or nurse practitioner, and see what they recommend. i don't think there is much you can do about a virus except let it run its course and treat the symptoms....

the ped or family doc about a LO's diarrhea? We all got the stomach flu this week, but LO had it first and was done vomiting on Tuesday. He's had horribly stinky, diarrhea blowouts a couple of times a day every day since then. :(

He just had his second this morning. He seems to be eating/drinking probably 3/4 his norm so I'm not overly concerned about dehydration and he's as active as ever. He also popped his first tooth through this week, and he has a second on its way. Teething can cause diarrhea, I know, too.

I'm just conflicted on whether to call and take him in -- especially as both DH and I are still recovering and I don't want to expose any one to this horrible bug. I just also don't want him to suddenly come down with horrible dehydration or another complication!
