Such memories!</p> <p>We are taking a trip to hot springs NC in October. It is my favorite mountain town, east of Asheville just outside the boundaries of the GSMNP. If laid back hippie is your thing, this is the place. Some common trips my friends and family took include Helen GA, Dahlonega GA, Pigeon Forge TN, Cherokee NC, Charleston SC, Myrtle Beach SC, and Savannah GA. Helen and Savannah are my personal favorites. Helen is a mountain town less than two hours north. Charlotte is ok, but if it is just y'all I would go to Asheville! Love that place! Or highlands, brevard, or cashiers NC (mountain towns). Or Smoky Mtns. National Park. Or kayaking the Nantahala, Ocoee, or chattooga (be careful with that last one it is dangerous).</p> <p>In GA, you could do savannah. Well, south of it.</p> <p>The whitewater center is really fun! Charlotte is about 4-5 hours from ATL.</p> <p>Stone mountain is in GA. There's a really cool downtown area in Greenville, SC. We're flying to ATL now and we fly home on Monday. We have a car rental and OPKs but no other plans. LO is at home with the in laws.</p> <p>We were thinking of driving up to Charlotte and checking out the whitewater park. We'd like to see the coast but I understand the weather is bad. </p> <p>I'd love any suggestions! </p>
