Our older daughter slept with a hard plastic iron man for awhile until I realized she was attaching to it. I took it away because it smelled like plastic!

My LO also loves her sippy. We leave a sippy of water in her crib at night and she will hug it like its a stuffed animal while she's sleeping.

DS carried around a tiny plastic giraffe for like 4 months before we lost it forever. Before that it was a measuring cup. Now he has a replacement giraffe that he'll carry occasionally, but I wonder of he's growing out of that kind of attachment (he's 25 months now)

Yes! Chloe is ridiculously attached to her sippy cup. She used to be attached to her bottle.. She'd snuggle it while falling asleep! Now she snuggles her sippy cup.

I can give it to her empty.. She just wants to hold it!

At close to 16 months, DD has finally grown an attachment, but to my surprise, it's not to any of the stuffed animals I'm been trying to introduce to her, nor is it for her Angeldear blankie that's been in her crib for months. Her security objects are her night lights!

Every morning she's clutching her Spöka and cries when I don't bring her Cloud b Twilight Constellation Ladybug! She's getting over a cold and teething right now and she's wailing while holding both of these.

It would have been so much easier if she just picked the blankie! Does your LO have a non-snuggly security object?
