<description>&#60;p&#62;@Mrs. Sunshine:  thank you so much for posting this! it made me cry. Although I don't have experience with autism, I feel like the narrative on preemie babies is the same. You only ever hear the good stories (so and so was born at 27 weeks and now they're going to college, etc), or the stories of triumph through the odds, not chronic conditions.

<description>&#60;p&#62;This is so true. Most autistics are not geniuses. (I have ASD and get so tired of hearing &#34;you must be a genius...you autistics are all geniuses.&#34;) Many autistics do not have a crazy special talent. Despite the uplifting anecdotes, autistics and their families still face many intense challenges.
