I honestly was terrified of breastfeeding before she was born and positive I'd want to use formula or exclusively pump. After dealing with over supply, forceful let down, cracked and bloody nipples, we're still going strong.</p> <p>Baby's birth stats: 7 lb 10 oz, 18 3/4" long</p> <p>Biggest Reward: everything! I love every minute of it.</p> <p>Biggest Challenge: the postpartum hormones! I cry way too often. Both things like when she turned 1 week I was so sad she was getting big, but also crying because I felt like I was doing basic things wrong. Also seeing her change and bonding with her. With our feeding troubles + baby blues it took the first couple weeks to feel like we were actually doing any bonding..but now I just love love love and adore her and we are doing great.</p> <p>Biggest Challenge: I tried in the beginning to breastfeed but it didn't work out and pumping was very depressing in combination with the baby blues. I could not believe the intensity of the emotions I was going through but things are better now and at least I'm better prepared for the next time around! I'm still dealing with a bit of guilt over not BFing but I think it has saved my sanity!
