It's not outrageously expensive or anything and it's a sweet reminder. I guess there are other glass studios that charge a lot more bc each glass piece is custom. Here, the company only makes two types of shapes - spheres and hearts - bc over time they know they can deliver a consistent product and control the quality. Also, they only offer a few different colors bc again over time they know that these colors can consistantly be replicated. </p> <p>We went to the studio in person and I thought the glass pieces were a lot prettier and sweeter in person than I did seeing them online. I thought they were going to look cheesy but they aren't cheesy at all. I wanted a soft tourquoise color but they explained why they only offer the colors that they offer - keeps costs down and they only work with materials they know will consistently look the same so people can get what they expect. A lot of different types of colored glass are more fickle. </p> <p>The company, Artful Ashes, is the business but all of the glass artists are from Glass Eye Studio which is a studio that makes tons of glass art that is sold all over the country. They make some really amazing glass art that is so beautiful in person. We worked directly with the husband and wife team that owns Artful Ashes. They are just normal everyday people running a business. They are very sensitive about the nature of their work and they are super busy but they were so easy to work with - very kind, honest people. I highly recommend them.
